The office recommend I attend the traffic school to keep the ticket off the record. I wasn't speeding and no other violations were recorded. Is using a cell phone in Illinois considered a moving violation and should I go to class to avoid having it on my record?
Not a mover first time. Pay it and don't get legal advice from police officers!

I agree with Mr. Hoffman. A first time cell phone violation is not a moving violation (subsequent offenses will be considered moving violations). There is no class required. A police officer is a police officer and not an attorney. His 'advice' is incorrect.
