Hi, legal gurus. I would like to get an advice on criminal case that my father-in-law was involved in. He was sentenced to approx. 33 months in federal prison due to bank fraud. Now, he's been there for 11 months. What he is requesting to me is now to seek legal advice on his desire to leave prison early. He wants 6 months home confinement + 6 months half-way house. According to him, he has a 90-year old, ill mother that he needs to take care of. He also said there has been couple case where the warden has granted such early release in his facility. I would like to know if this is ever possible, worth trying to spend thousands dollars on attorney. Please help!! Thanks!
Contact Anthony Solis or Ed Robinson to ask them - they each practice in federal court regularly
It is possible. I just completed such a request for my client because his father is ill. The key is to get his supervisor on board. If the supervisor is on board, then the AUSA is likely not to oppose the request. So if both are on board then the judge is likely to grant the request without a hearing. It may take several weeks to get this in place. Good luck.
The response above is general information related to law and not intended as legal advice since it’s impracticable to provide thorough, accurate advice based upon the query without additional details. It is highly recommended that one should seek advice from an attorney licensed in your jurisdiction by setting up a confidential meeting. Moreover, this response does not constitute the creation of an attorney-client relationship since this message is not a confidential communication because it was posted on a public website, thereby publicly disclosing the information, which is another reason to setup a confidential meeting with an attorney.
