I was charged with a class c misdemeanor for Fail to Obtain Rabies Vaccination, even though I have a valid vaccination for my dog and they are now trying to fine me $300 dollars. I have proof from my vet that I have the vaccination and when the animal control agent first stopped me, my dog had a tag on her and everything showing I had the vaccine. What can I do to easily get this charged removed from my record and not have to pay the fine?
Nothing is easy with courts. You'll have to take the proof of vaccination to court, like proof of insurance on a car.
When you go to court plea not guilty to the charge and schedule a pretrial. At the pretrial show the prosecution that you have proof that the dog was actually vaccinated and they will likely drop the charge.
