Hello I am currently on F1 and i have an approved i-140. Before EB3 retrogressed (unfortunately now the status is "u") , i have filed for AP, i-485 (AOS) and i-765 (EAD), which during those time was current. My F1 visa is about to expire at the end of the month but i am done with the biometrics scheduled by USCIS. I am still waiting for approval notice of my EAD which is now 65 days pending from the day of filing and 30 days pending after biometrics. Here are my questions:
1. how long shall i wait for my EAD after biometrics (may 19, 2015)?
2. Do i need to study again to maintain my status?
Thanks and hope to get reply :)
It usually takes several months from the date of filing to receive EAU. I would say by August, you should have it. When you receive a green card, you do not need to study again even though it can help you to intellectually grow and develop further as a human being.
1. USCIS has, by law, 90 days after receipt of your EAD application during which to issue it.
2. No need. You are now pending AOS (employment based.) You are able to renew your EAD and Advance Parole documents until such time as finally able to obtain "green card". Also, once your I-485 has been pending for 6 months or more, you are able to switch employers and "port" to another one, as long as the new job is in the "same or similar" occupation.

Usually about three months. after that, schedule an infopass.
You need to study to maintain status. However, pending I485 makes your presents in the USA authorized until the petition is adjudicated. It is true even when the priority retrogresses.

Your status is aid pending you do not need to continue studying. You will get your EAD 90 days from filing.
