I am an exempt employee. Went to work Mon. Mon night I was under mandatory evacuation. Missed Tue, Wed and Thur work. I returned home and went to come to work Fri to find out they were closed for Weather. I was only paid for Monday's work. Is this legal??
I've moved your question over to the Employment section of AVVO so you can get some advice from employment law attorneys. I believe the answer to your question is yes this is legal in Virginia assuming that your are not an employee of a federal, state, or local government and assuming that you are not covered by a labor union contract or employment contract with your employer that forbids this type of thing. That said, I will defer to the opinion of any employment law attorneys who want to post comments on this topic.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not. What determines Avvo Rating?Experience & background
