My ex husband hasn’t been paying child support properly for the last 2 years. He always drops off a money order a month late. He also doesn’t pay his half of the medical bills. He also quit his job recently so he doesn’t have to pay child support for 4 months now. He recently bought a new car too. I’ve decided to have him served but he’s avoiding the server for days now. When the server goes to his house he’s “never home”. His family will also cover for him and lie about his wearabouts. What can do I?
You need to consult with an experienced family law attorney to discuss your options. I’m presuming you’re trying to have him served with an enforcement action. Your attorney should know an effective process server who utilizes stealth techniques to achieve personal service. If you try to handle this on your own, your ex will keep playing these games.
