Ex Boyfriend ran up utility bills in my name after I moved out. He never put the bill in his name as agreed. Can I sue him?

Well by now you probably understand that you have to be the one to cancel a utility bill if you move out. Otherwise, the utility company has every right to look to you for payment.
You certainly can sue your ex boyfriend to collect this money, but as a practical matter, will you be able to collect any court judgment from him? Is he working, does he have savings, etc?
Hope this perspective helps!
