I would like to know the options of someone that pleaded guilty to a plea and is now on the computer as a sex offender. His step daughter at the time and her father thought up some story and now he is on the internet for life - was suppose to be only ten years. How can this get changed? He is innocent but this girl lied - how can it be proven that she lied? I desperately need your help. Thanks very much.
Lies are very difficult to prove especially when one person says one thing and someone else says the opposite. I assume this is related to the other sex offender questions that were posted and if so, then the person plead guilty and most likely admitted committing the crime under oath. That is a difficult if not impossible burden to overcome absent some new exonerating evidence.

The short answer is yes. It is possible though extremely rare. I should point out though that the Alford plea has nothing to do with the rest of your inquiry (and the other questions you posted). If he already pleaded guilty he must move to vacate that conviction and then move on from there. He really should have an attorney assisting with this matter.
Alford please are used in NY but not too often. However, in the case you ask about it is too late as the person already plead guilty. In addition, an Alford plea carries the same weight as any other conviction.
