I live in the state of Alabama. My siblings and I were willed a home my parents left. I have been paying the taxes and insurance on the home for past 7 years.
You haven't provided quite enough information. You don't say who is currently on the deed. You don't say if there's a mortgage. You should consult with an Alabama real estate attorney.
Although I am a lawyer, I am not your lawyer unless and until you retain me. My response is not intended to give you specific legal advice regarding your particular situation and does not create an attorney-client relationship.
In this situation, a lot of factors determine the ownership of the home, and just paying the taxes and insurance will not be enough. If all of the parties can't agree on the ownership, then a Quiet Title action may be required. I would recommend that you seek a real estate attorney.
