My ex has recently been found in criminal contempt due to non payment of child support. After 14 years of my son never even receiving a birthday card, the ex, out of bitterness, has sent me a very forceful email telling me he will be at our house Thursday to take my son for a weekend. My son, who is now 17, is refusing to go with him. My son will not and does not want anything to do with this person at all. Please help me, Im scared. This man did horrible things to us years past. Thank you
I suspect the cops will tell your ex to go to court as this is a civil matter. If he ahowa up causing a problem then you call the cops and have escorted away or arrested. You need to seek rhe advice of a seasoned family law attorney in your area.
If he shows up, just call the police. I dont think the Court would force your 17 y/o child to go with him if he didnt want to.
You need to ask the judge to modify that plan immediately and ask for an immediate injunction. See a lawyer right away.
The court of origin has continuing jurisdiction over the matters. You should contact an attorney and proceed to that court for relief, modification, etc.
