I was in a bike accident on the 4th on my way home from work and had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance. Get treated for deep cuts on my face ,a sprained right wrist and severe road rash on my left arm. I never got a doctors note because I wasn't even sure I would miss work at all but I woke up the next morning and could barely move and was sore all over. Couldn't even lift my arms above my head and I even had trouble opening a window. In any case I wouldn't have been able to complete my job safely the way I felt and this pain lasted for 3 days.
I called in all 3 days talked to the store manager at no point was I informed I needed a note before I could return. So I show up today 20 minutes early check the schedule see im still on it for today and about 35 minutes in the assistant manager sends me home because I didn't have a note.
Are they required to pay me for 3 hours due to MA's "show up law" or is there some kind of exemption based on my circumstances.
If they are required to pay me how I do take action against them should they refuse?
