Does a Non Compete apply to me if I signed it as a independent contractor, but 3/4 of year later I became an employee. I've been an employee for well over a year now. I believe the Non complete was addressed to a "independent contractor." Also since the company I work for converted me into an employee, doesn't that break the Non compete?
I think the terms of the Non complete lasted 2 years, which is up sometime next month.
The only way for your question to be answered satisfactorily is for an attorney to review the entire document and have a better understanding of your work status.

I agree with Mr. Greenbaum but wonder why you think the company would be any less concerned with an employee competing than an independent contractor? Does your "employee" contract not address this topic?
