I filed and was granted a Chapter 11 bankruptcy over 2 years ago and I haven't been contacted by the state of KS since about this debt so I am wondering if it was cleared by the bankruptcy.
That may depend on the age of the income tax. I suggest you contact your Chapter 11 lawyer.
We are a debt relief agency helping people obtain relief via bankruptcy under the U.S. Code. This is not to be construed as legal advice, please consult a lawyer regarding important legal decisions.
It would depend on the nature of the claim. If the claim was for a priority debt, you should have paid it through the Chapter 11, if it was a nonpriority debt, it would be eligible to be discharged.
I agree your own attorney should be answering this question for you.
Hope this perspective helps!
I'll assume you didn't file a chapter 11 case without an attorney, because you would have crashed and burned on the second day for want of first-day motions. So ask your attorney to help you understand the plan that got confirmed and performed.
