An record label wanted to give me a record deal but first I had to pay 95$ down payment to get flown out to discuss a record deal with them, look very legit but they say the 95$ is out of the 700 it cost to fly me out and hotel cost. Do record labels do this before flying an artist out so they know where coming or is this a scam?
You should consider conducting some internet research on the record label to see if the company has a history of fleecing other clients, or whether it has nothing but good reviews.
Ask the company for references for other clients, and consult with the other clients to see if they are happy.
