If the income reported on your 2011 tax returns is not sufficient to meet 125% of poverty guidelines, you should use a joint sponsor unless you have substantial assets. Please seek an attorney if you are not sure.
Having a co sponsor is a better option if possible, but you can use assets as long as the y are free and clear and liquid
