I understand that California is now issuing licenses to undocumented immigrants but I'm worried that I won't qualify because years ago I had a license, yet I don't know what social security number did the DMV personnel used. All I remember is that I used my California ID number to get a license issued by a DMV.
The simple answer is yes. However, you will also be required to have the minimal car insurance. Make an appointment with DMV. Good luck.
You should make an online appointment to ask these questions of the DMV. They can look up your record and straighten this out for you. Before doing so, you may want to review the DMV website that may contain updated information relevant to your issue.
This should not be an issue in obtaining your driver's license under AB60. However, if the previous license was obtained fraudulently, or there were any other issues relating to its issuance, you should consult with an immigration attorney. Many offer free assessments and can advise you of the risks. Best of luck to you.
