I entered US on 15-March-2012 on L2 visa. I have applied for an EAD today. Do I need to resign from my current job [in a leading bank in India] prior to applying for a job [preferrably a bank] in US after receiving EAD? I have currently taken Leave without pay from my current company in India and will be in US for next 10 months.
No, you don't have to resign from your job with the bank in India before taking a job here in the US after you get your EAD as a matter of US immigration law. You should, however, get advice from a lawyer in India about whether you would be violating your employment agreement with the bank in India by taking a job elsewhere before resigning.
Having an L-2 EAD has nothing to do with when you resign a job or accept a job. That is entirely up to you and is not an immigration question.
