4 year ago I rode my bike on the sidewalk and I got a summon and had to appear in court. I did go to the court and ticket was dismissed. Does it need to be mentioned on I-400 application?
Will it show on my background check if I obtain one from the police department?
You will not need to mention a minor traffic summons on your I-400 application. As long as the incident did not involve drugs/alcohol, lead to an arrest, and/or no one was seriously injured, the USCIS will not require you to disclose the incident. https://www.uscis.gov/system/files_force/files/form/n-400instr.pdf?download=1
It will also not show up on a background check unless you were charged with a crime or have an arrest record (i.e. fingerprints taken at a police station). You should consult an immigration attorney before you submit your I-400 Naturalization Form to ensure that you have no other circumstances/red flags on your form that might delay or prevent you from being naturalized.
