I live in hawaii. my exwife petitioned to bring her mother here from the philippines. She plans to have her mother watch our daughter so that she does not have to pay child care next month, then plans to pay her mother for child care. Since she petitioned her mother to come to the United States she is legally responsible for supporting her, and her mother will be residing with her from now on.
If the court has mandated that you pay child care, you probably have to continue doing so. You can also go back into court and see if the judge will modify the order.
I am licensed to practice in Massachusetts. As such my answers should not be viewed as a legal advice.
