I was painting my house when a building inspector barged onto my property, pointed at a regular outlet, and said I'm required to pull a permit for electrical work even though no electrical work was done to the house.
Since then, I have sold the house and am closing escrow any day now. Am I required to comply? Should I just mail them back after I'm out of the property and tell them I no longer own the property? Can an attorney please advise me on how to get this annoying pest off my behind?
I assume all electrical work was done correctly, permits or not. You may need to inform the buyer in the sale disclosures that are required. Talk to your agent about this immediately.
