My company just received a letter from IRS including SS-8 form. The company is already out of business for a while. My former massage therapist was an independent contractor. I have been filed 1099 for him in last year. Do I need respond this form or ignore it? How long usually does the IRS determination take?
Any suggestions are really appreciated!
I agree with the other attorneys who advise against ignoring the form from the IRS. It is advisable to respond to IRS notices as soon as possible. This is solely for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon by anyone as legal advice.
