I receive a notice of motion in the mail from my landlord for non payment of one month rent ! also it states that I haven’t pay July rent !what are my options I can’t afford to get evicted!
Please advise !
Dear Brooklyn Tenant
Did you make a promise to pay July rent by a certain day ahead of the next scheduled court date? If so, is the landlord requesting a default judgment? If so, you play right into the landlord plan to evict you. You must respond to the motion.
Now I don't know what the eviction case is about since you kept that information under wraps. Usually a motion made ahead of the next court date should be assigned the same day as the next scheduled court date.
