I am starting a limousine company and I am currently working toward registering my car in the state of Connecticut for a "L" plate, (aka, livery plate) I am currently in possession of a "Z" plate and I am working within the interstate. With the L plate I will be able to work within my own state. I had to get my fingerprints done for this application and I am currently on probationb for a federal immagration issue that has nothing to pertain to the DMV. I am not a murderer or a rapist. I had an issue with a document in the federal court system. I am being told that since I have a criminal record that I can not be in possession of this plate. Is this correct? As well as what do I need to do to get myself allowed to be in posession of this plate? Can I hire a lawyer? Please Help?
I have edited this post to go to the Immigration section for an answer. You should seek the advice of an immigration attorney who has experience in this area.
