I'm currently on an H-1B visa and have a pending I-140 and pending I-485. Due to the pending I-485, I have an EAD, which allows me to work for any employer. I would like to take a second, part-time job (which could be self-employment) using my EAD, while staying full-time with my H-1B employer. Will I automatically lose my H-1B status when I do that? There seems to be some conflicting opinions out there with some people saying yes, you immediately lose H-1B status if you take a second job with EAD, and others saying that you don't lose H-1B status unless you leave your H-1B employer and take a different job with the EAD.
Do I lose my H-1B status if I take a second part-time job with my EAD?
