You will have to pay the court costs of filing for an adult name change. The cost will vary by local jurisdiction, so check with the court clerk's office in the county in which you live. Adult name changes are usually simple so you can likely find the forms on your county's website and probably won't need an attorney. Check with your local court.
As an adult, you may file for a name change. Please consult with an experienced family law attorney who regularly practices in the county where you reside to discuss the process and the cost of filing.
