Me and my boyfriend were asleep when I smelled a plastic and wood burning smell coming from the living room. When I placed my hand on the wall it was hot to the touch, and outside the balcony door we saw smoke trindles. Long story short the fire department was called and they knocked out half of my wall in the living room. Then the apartment manager shows up a couple hours later and says they will get it fixed. Five days later these men come to fix it, don't even finish the job.. stain my carpet/balcony. Then I woke up this morning to a letter on my door saying I owed $4,980 for damage control. Shouldnt thos be on them and not us? Is this right when it was ruled as an accident as they did not find what caused the fire. The fire chief said that it could have been electrical or something. . Please help me.
