Do I have to appear at a hearing if I was never served but saw a filing online?

You need to be sure to attend or have someone attend otherwise they will most likely get a default judgment, I would not rely on not having been served in the matter because I suspect the documents submitted to the court will say otherwise.
You have to hire an attorney to represent you so that your rights are protected. If the landlord is committing fraud upon the court, you need to make sure the Judge is aware and the evidence reveals it. Consult with a landlord tenant lawyer today.
