Had to have gas company repair damaged underground gas line on my property. It was a simple repair that took well under an hour. Got a bill from them for $1000 afterward. They have turned it over to a collection agency. Don't feel it is a fair charge. Asked for itemized bill and received one that had 7 workers for 3 hours time each. I feel this is evidence of improper charge.
What are the rest of the facts? Gas lines don't need repairs very often.

Sounds cheap to me. Get an estimate from a professional and dispute it if you were overcharged.
