My neighbor hit my dog and wants me to pay for her far am I liable or what do I do
First, I'm sorry that your dog got hit. I'm sure that is traumatic enough without your neighbor looking to you to pay for her car repair. You might want to try posting your question under "Animal Law" to see if someone can give you a definitive answer. It is possible that she may have a claim if there is a leash law in your area and your dog shouldn't have been loose. That said, she also should have proper insurance and if she does not, she may be barred from making any claim against you. You may also have a defense if she was speeding, distracted driving, etc., and was partially at fault herself for the accident. You might also want to check with your insurance carrier-- your auto insurance and/or homeowner's carrier may have a duty to defend you and/or to pay any claim against you. Good luck!
