I was recently interviewed (Jan 18th) at a company .. they offered me the job (signed paperwork) . I had passed the road test and urine test. Haven’t heard from my employer in a week. called and ask what’s taking so long to give me a start date.. they said “ we are still waiting for your background check to come back I will receive a call from compliance whether I pass or fail. I decided to called sterling one (background vendor) 4 days later to see if my background check was completed . They emailed a copy and it showed an open case (assault with a weapon) but it was dismissed on the same day they requested the report. I called to dispute it on the feb 2nd but they said my employer requested another report on Feb 1st which I had no knowledge of. I called my employer back today to see if they withdrew the offer she said (My background check is still pending and if i didn’t go to orientation I wasnt hired”
It sounds like they have not made a decision on whether to hire you yet. What makes you think there was any illegal action?
