Travelling through Ga. in 2007, rec'd speeding ticket. Required to attend trial because under 21 yrs. of age. Wrote to court explaining that I was a college student from Md. and unable to attend trial on date selected. Never heard from the court again but understand that warrant would have been issued.
1) Am I still a wanted man in Ga?
2) Now over 21 so would payment of fine clear my name?
3) I assume that Ga. did not report violation to Md. since my license was not suspended. Does Ga. report to any other states?
4) If I got stopped in Ga. all these years later, what would likely be result?
It is likely that a warrant was issued but I am surprised that it was not reported to MD and your license suspended. If a warrant was issued and it has been reported to the national database, NCIC, then you are subject to being arrested anywhere that you are stopped. Normally payment would clear up the situation but the court may insist that you appear. If that is the case, then an attorney may be able to assist and you would not have to show for court.
