So I'm 16 going to 17 this month coming up, I have a boyfriend that just turned 18 and my mom been trying to call the cops can we get in trouble for being 1 year of difference?
Is this person in a position of trust (teacher, counselor, so on)? If not, then dating is fine and 17 is also the age of consent as to whether that makes sense is for you and your parents to consider). The cops will not be too pleased to be called on something like this.

A 1 year difference will not make any difference to anyone...except your parents. I am assuming the boyfriend is not a teacher or instructor of some sort (or in any other position of trust). The bigger issue here is with your parents. As you are probably still living under their roof, you will still need to follow their rules. Life could get very difficult if your parents chose it to be.
