My babys father and I were never married. I had our son and he was absent the first 6 months on his own terms. He is now demanding 50/50 custody and I'm terrified he'll get it . He has an awful temper, throws things, breaks things, constantly verbally assaulting me and disrespects me any chance he can. I worry for the safety of my son.
You should pay an attorney to review your situation, at length, to devise a strategy for going to court on this issue. This is going to be complex and too emotionally draining on you to do this without an attorney.
If you are unmarried, until he actually files a case with your local family court, you don't have to give him anything. Should he actually take the step of filing something, retain an attorney to assist you with the case.
