I got a ticket that doesn't make sense. a cop clocks a car in front of me going 37 in a 20 mile school zone, and he tells me that since I was behind him I get a ticket too. There is a reason I was behind him. There is a red light right before where the cop was sitting also a bridge, the default speed is 35. you will not be able to see the school speed limit flashing until you cross under the bridge. I rolled to the light because I got a big motor passed the car that was on my right hand side and than he swiftly came and passed me, I looked at my dash I was hardly going 25 Since I had to take the highway route I had to take the right lane which was right behind him. This is his reasoning to pull me over including the car that was speeding. You know why I pulled you over sir? I stated No Sir. Cop states there was a flashing light for school zone. I told the cop I was hardly going 25. He said well I clocked the car that you were behind going 37 so by nature I get a ticket too since I was behind him going legal speed. The Officer Also cited me for Tint which was not interfering with him I had both my front windows down for him. He wrote the wrong tint% than what his device said.
Contesting the ticket is an option. It would be best for you to consult with an attorney to talk about your options and help you do this. In regards to the window tint, it does not matter whether or not the tint was interfering with the officer. If the tint is legally too dark you can be cited for that.
