My abusive, someday ex husband agreed to a no contact agreement in the divorce proceeding. He is to stay 50' from me and my residence. Unfortunately, he placed a camera on the dash of his vehicle and now drives with our minor daughter in his vehicle back and forth around public areas in the town I reside in. He does not live there, but in fact lives 30 mins away. While this is clearly just weird, since it's a relatively quiet place and I live a quiet life, it bothers my daughter a great deal. I wonder, if this is legal, as it is not to protect him, but being used to record public areas without the consent or knowledge of the people using those areas, i.e. the grocery store, pharmacy, etc. If it is being used for surveillance of me, I would imagine this may constitute stalking. Thank you.
I'm not aware of any law which makes it a crime to video tape public areas around your car. The fact that this is how your ex chooses to spend his parenting time with his daughter might become an issue in the family court, but nothing you describe appears to be an issue for a criminal court.
