Had a medical collection for $200. They got a judgment over it. I had $70 in my checking account, but an overdraft protection of $100. They were able to overdrawal my account for that plus $30 more. Now my bank closed the account charged me $40 for an overdraft fee, plus other fees total being $125. Can my bank or myself request the collection agency to retire the $30 overage and fees involved?
Typically, part of a bank's agreement with its customers is that the bank has discretion to pay certain items when you do not have enough money in the bank.
Was the $200 payment voluntary or involuntary?
