My ex partner moved out of the apartment 6 months ago. He continued to share the expenses of the house and my son for this time, but now he is asking me to move out and look for a smaller and cheaper place because he says he doesn't have to pay for my expenses. we have a 20 month old baby who is under my custody. I know his income is at least 4 times more than mine, but he says we need to pay everything 50/50 and that he should not be responsible for my apartment rent. What are my options? how much should he be paying? is it true that he doesnt have to pay for rent and only for my child other expenses (e.g. clothes, food, classes). what are my rights? thank you.

It sounds like you need to possibly file a child support petition. However, you may wish to speak to an attorney to make sure that you are doing the right thing, and understand what you may be entitled to. The worst thing you can do, is to file and then get less money than you are getting now.
Please speak to counsel.
