I live in indiana and i have a misdemeanor warrent in florida from 10- 15 years ago, can i purchasee a firearm?
Question 11.d on ATF form 4473 (which is the form you must fill out when purchasing a firearm from an FFL) asks "Are you a fugitive from justice?" and requires you to answer yes or no.
Fugitive from justice is defined on the form as "Any person who has fled from any State to
avoid prosecution for a felony or a misdemeanor; or any person who leaves the State
to avoid giving testimony in any criminal proceeding. The term also includes any
person who knows that misdemeanor or felony charges are pending against such
person and who leaves the State of prosecution."
I believe you would fall into this category and thus be prohibited from purchasing a firearm legally. It would probably be in your best interest for you to contact an attorney in the locale that you have the warrant out of and try to get this matter resolved. I hope this was helpful and good luck to you.
