I leased a car on 12/2004 and voluntarily surrendered the car at the delearship around December 2007 (which was also my last recorded payment). The car was sold at auction 2/21/2008 and the creditor is charging me for the last remaining months of my lease plus penalties ($5,939.80 as of 2/8/2012). I asked the costumer service to furnish me copies of the documents on the same day (02/08/2012) and was told they would mail me something.....I have yet to recieve anything. The issue I am having is that they seem not to care about collecting on this debt since it has not been transferred to a collection agency in which they cannot collect on since the statue of limitations to collect on the debt has passed (4 years in California). How do I remove this account from "Pending" status?
