I had my car for over 30 days. When i left the dealership, I had put 1000k down and had a finance company locked in and approved. I did owe another 1500 for my deferred down payment to be paid to the dealership. I told them to take $300 automatically every week which they did not do. Long story short the dealership had sold my contract to the finance company. Long after 30 days The dealership repo'd my car. However, after researching the alleged repo man and his fictitious company it turned out to all be a lie. I checked the license number on the consumer affairs website and nothing came up. Which makes sense because he needed my keys to my car because he showed up at my work on a Sunday mind you with some jacket that said "agent", with his wife, in their personal car to repo my car. He said the bank canceled the contract because they could not verify my address. I spoke to the finance company. They confirmed they never put in for a repo. So much was stolen out of my car and it gets a lot deeper but basically the dealership kept my down payment, illegally repo my car, stole many of my personal items, and had the car back on there sister lot for sale in a week after taking it
Lots of issues in your post. If the Retail Installment Sale Contract was sold to a bank, the dealership cannot repossess the vehicle. You will need an experienced attorney to look at all your paperwork to make sure. Have you made all the scheduled payments to the bank? Proof of payments?
