I have knowledge of someone who is marrying and divorcing foreigners on continuous basis to get money in-return for giving foreigners green cards. I want to share this information/proofs with ICE. But I am afraid if ICE would tell them that ICE was tipped off, they will suspect me and endanger me. I KNOW THAT I CAN REPORT ANONYMOUSLY.....But WANT TO KNOW...if ICE would tell the the person (I want to report) that ICE was tipped off anonymously. Does someone know for sure? Or can someone suggest if this can be found out from somewhere? Thanks!!
ICE is not supposed to disclose third party information.
Attorney Robert Brown's (former INS Director, 1972-99) reply to your question is general in nature, and does not constitute legal advice as all facts are known to him. For specific advice or representation you should retain an attorney experienced in immigration law. Mr. Brown's reply on AVVO does not create an attorney/client relationship not constitute legal advice.
I agree with the Director. ICE should not be disclosing third party info.
