I was adopted when I was 4 days old and both of my adopted parents have recently died when I look up the will they have place in there that they were intentionally omitting their adopted daughter. They left everything to their 2 birth daughters. Can this be done in S.C.
An adopted child has the the same legal status, so to speak, as a biological child, but it is possible to disinherit a child, whether biological or adopted.
I highly recommend that you consult with a probate attorney with copies of their wills sooner rather than later about what possible claims you may have to their estates, if any.
