my boyfriend is in jail with 3 charges one without a bond. his bond hearing is coming and he still doesnt have a lawyer. he was not on probation.
Maybe. Are you sure the court date is a bond hearing? Your boyfriend should ask the court to appoint the public defender if he cannot afford an attorney. Your boyfriend risks saying things that could be used against him if he tries to Do his own bond hearing.
You can but since you usually get one chance at a bond hearing, it would be advisable to get an attorney, or at least ask for the public defender if he is eligible.
We need to know the charges. He might get bond without an attorney, but one of the charges is serious enough to not have a bond.

You can do almost anything in a criminal case without a lawyer, but the question is do you know how? And then, might you do something that makes things worse? The courthouse is like a minefield and most people go around blowing themselves up because they don't know where the explosives are. But if he's in jail, he should have a public defender, who will give him advice on bonds and bond hearings, I'm sure.
