We moved in to a house that did not advertise its garage being rented to another tenant. The real estate agent verbally mentioned it but made no mention of it in the lease agreement. My husband signed it in rush without realizing how it would intrude our privacy. We are even responsible for utilities of the tenant occupying the garage. It’s been 2 days we moved in and we are planning to move out. We mentioned it in email to the agent before landlord had signed the agreement but agent refused to acknowledge this as an issue. We are interested in knowing what options we have as clearly the tenant in garage is kept illegally.
The lease agreement should reference a separate rental unit within the house.
