My husband and I originally brought our car to a repair shop for a catalytic converter. Without even looking at the converter they stated the car had engine problems but no check engine light was on. The originally quoted us $500 but after taking apart the engine they stated that it would be $3200 to repair. We have taken the car back and forth four times since paying them $3200 and it’s still not right. Loud high pitched squealing and the check engine light comes on. We are over it at this point and think we should sue them for the money to be returned. Their mechanics are obviously incompetent. Please advise if we have a case.
You very likely have claims for violations of Ohio's Motor Vehicle Repair Rule, and/or the Consumer Sales Practices Act, and/or negligence, and/or other possible claims. I recommend you speak with a litigation attorney with expertise in the area of consumer protection. Best of luck, and I'm sorry you're dealing with such a lousy situation.
