My wife is F1 VISA - STEM Extension period. 2 weeks before our India travel, her EAD card was stolen. we filed a police report, replacement card with USCIS and got the receipt notice before our travel. We carried all the required documents with us including the police report. However when we travelled back from India, the Border officer in Toronto airport did not allow her. Early this year she once entered US from Canada without documents as she forgot to carry during her trip. But this time in spite of having all the documents, the officer gave I-275 and asking her to enter with EAD card. Is it ok to try enter US through land as when we checked later with Border Customs office through phone, though as per rule you can enter it is up to the discretion of the officer. Please let us know the options.
If the CBPO allowed your wife to withdraw her application for admission, then she would not have been admitted. Future admissions may be unlikely, depending on what ground of inadmissibility applied to her at the time.
