I'm married but have been living separate from my husband, he has become very ill and been in the hospital for a month. I found out a week ago and visited him. He has asked me to return as often as I can. I have visited him several times. One day his mother and sister were there when i arrived. I hugged the mom, the sister ignored me, then went to the hallway where she began yelling about me to the nurses.
The next day I went back to visit, I checked with nurses at the nursing station and he was in testing. Later I returned to visit, after about 2hrs his sister arrived without the mother, screaming at me to get out and screaming at my sick husband to choose her or me. Stating that if he allowed me to visit she would never speak to him again. My husband said i should go, and i left.
Now i found out that the police arrived after I left and banned me from visiting, stating they spoke to my husband and the family (his sister). Can I do anything about the scream scene, and keep the sister away from me? Can I visit my husband? He banned me under duress of his sisters force. What if he dies?
I do not know if the police have the authority to ban you from seeing your husband. In fact, I seriously doubt that they do have the authority to ban you from seeing your husband without a court order. If the sister keeps harassing you, you can obtain an order of protection. Law Offices of Theodore
