I received the non custodial parent state taxes the end of June 2018 but haven't received the federal taxes. I am trying to find out if and when I will get the federal taxes owed to me.
3 things. 1. Do you know for a fact the child support agency put a levy on the federal taxes. 2. Do you know the custodial parent was due a refund. 3. If the custodial parent owes federal taxes, then that has priority over a levy by the state, so yes, the IRS will take the refund of someone that owed child support if that person owes federal taxes.
