Contract states that I must spay or neuter my dog by 1 year of age, but it doesn’t state what would happen if I don’t. No liquidated damages or return the dog to the breeder. Just says I have to spay or neuter the dog.
They likely have a good argument since the intent of the clause is quite obvious. See an attorney for a review of everything if you are concerned. Or just honor what you promised to do.

There are different types of "damages" for breach of contract. No way to tell without reading the contract what would happen, but, big picture is all you need to do is follow the rules of the contract and you will not have to worry about the downside. Of course if you never intended to abide by the contract, that is called fraud, which is a whole other can of worms...
