I borrowed money from a friend about a year ago and there was no agreement made on repayment and I am not able to pay it back yet. Can they have a warrant issued for my arrest due to non payment?
No. Not paying your debts is not a criminal offense. You can be sued and wages garnished etc, but you won’t go to jail.
There are no debtors prisons in the United States. Attorney Rosenthal is correct. You have nothing to worry about.
